Are the tables heated? Your body temperature lowers when you lie down,
and the rooms are usually kept cooler so that the therapist can do their job comfortably.
Being at a comfortable temperature can make the difference between a great massage and an unpleasant one.
Do they offer a footbath so that they can clean your feet before you get onto the massage table? Do they have showers so you can freshen up beforehand, or so you can rinse off the oil when you’re
done?
Another thing you may want to find out about is whether or not they have a couple’s room for you and a partner
to receive massages at the same time. It can be a great way to share quality
time with someone special, and it may also make you feel more comfortable if you’ve never had a massage before.
Does a one hour massage last for sixty minutes? Most massages can be scheduled
in increments of thirty minutes, beginning with a half an hour and extending up to a full two hours. Is the actual massage time fifty or fifty five minutes with time allowed for a “consultation?” If you’re paying for a one hour massage, then it should be just that, a full
hour massage.
So the next time you decide to schedule a massage, I hope you feel a little more armed with the necessary information
to help you make an informed decision on what type of massage would be the best for you, as well as confident in what to expect
in an exceptional establishment.
